Iola is the passionate owner and artisan behind Cold Duck Creamery, a local frozen custard maker that began in 2023. Known for her unique twist on the classic dessert, Cold Duck Creamery uses farm-fresh duck eggs in every batch, giving her custard a smoother, richer texture and a more intense flavor that sets it apart from traditional frozen treats.

 

Iola’s love for crafting desserts began long ago, and after years of perfecting her recipe, she decided to turn her passion into a business. With a focus on high-quality, locally sourced ingredients, Cold Duck Creamery quickly gained a loyal following. Her menu includes a variety of flavors, from timeless vanilla bean and strawberry to inventive seasonal combinations like gingerbread and pumpkin spice. Each batch is made in small quantities, ensuring every scoop is always fresh and flavorful.

 

At Cold Duck Creamery, Iola is committed to supporting local farmers and producers, sourcing ingredients from the Peterborough & Kawarthas region that align with her values of sustainability and community.
